Broward Children’s Center 14th Annual Miles for Smiles Event
Posted January 2018
Broward Children’s Center held their 14th Annual Miles for Smiles Walk & Festival on November 4, 2017. The event’s goal is to raise funds for the medical, educational, recreational, and therapeutic services provided by Broward Children’s Center, which serves children with disabilities. This year the event raised over $54,000!
Miles for Smiles provides a once a year opportunity to nurture and protect some of the most medically fragile children in the nation by funding the highly-specialized medical care Broward Children’s Center delivers. This care saves lives and improves the health and happiness of thousands of children. For 40 years, Broward Children’s Center has been providing nonprofit education, medical, and residential services to infants, children, and young adults who are at risk or have special needs. The private nonprofit accomplishes this through community support.
BCC has been a TGI customer for over 15 years. We were glad to be able to support as a Presenting Sponsor. Also at the event, TGI raffled off a Toshiba TV!
Over 600 walkers, runners, and wheelchair participants circled around the Pompano Beach Community Park. TGI’s employees cheered on runners and walkers at the finish line! The top 3 finishers in each category- runners, walkers, and wheelchair participants- all received medals, and the top 3 team fundraisers received prizes as well.
