TGI Automates Processes for NY Metropolitan Construction Corporation

ABOUT THE CUSTOMER
Established in 1974, this Construction Corporation is one of the leading general contracting companies in the New York Metropolitan region. They specialize in new construction, restorations, and renovations. Their primary market presence is in the educational and transportation sectors; however, they also have experience in the midrise residential market. Over the past decade they have completed many projects for the MTA, including rehabilitation of 20+ subway stations, and more than a dozen schools for the NYC SCA.
This Construction Corporation was heavily reliant on paper. Invoices for each job were being collected and manually shipped to each job site for Field Supervisors to approve and then ship back to the main office. Also, there was no way to track material orders to vendors, as the Supervisors were writing their orders manually and sending to vendors.
TGI proposed DocuWare Cloud Professional, which offers all the features required to automate their processes. TGI reviewed each step of their original process to uncover the issues they were experiencing. After listening to their needs, TGI created a custom demonstration with the Construction Corporation’s documents to show how the system would work in their environment.
Using DocuWare’s advanced workflow module, TGI was able to automate the approval process. All incoming invoices are automatically read and indexed by DocuWare, including the elimination of data entry required for their accounting system. These invoices are automatically routed in digital form to the Field Supervisors for approval.
TGI also implemented DocuWare Forms for the ordering of materials in the field. The Supervisors generate their orders using a fillable form, which is then routed to the main office for approval. Once approved, a digital copy of the purchase order is automatically sent to the vendor.
